Hello. I’m Joanna., a product & engineering leader with 20+ years experience shipping platform and customer-facing systems in fintech, e-commerce, and media. I run discovery, define requirements, and own roadmap trade-offs alongside the technical delivery.

When I was starting out as a software engineer, the joy came from solving intricate puzzles: How do I find the most elegant, performant way to implement a feature? What’s the root cause of an issue no one can figure out? Over time, the scope of those problems grew: How do we scale a service to meet the needs of a global user base? Should we use a simple message queue or a more durable workflow solution like Temporal? Now the joy comes from the much harder mystery of what to build and when: How do we prioritize competing feature requirements with limited resources? What is the right product strategy for our long term needs? These are large-scale problems that cross multiple disciplines and multiple teams. The creativity and rigor it takes to come up with solutions - and then be ready to revise them quickly as conditions change - is the most interesting and exciting challenge I’ve faced in my career so far.

I’m now focused exclusively on product and I'm bringing my engineering expertise with me. I have the drive and curiosity to uncover the what and the technical depth it takes to navigate the how.

Most recent role: Engineering Manager at Justworks.
